Projects

I have been commissioned by Newcastle Theatre Royal to create illustrations for a variety of events and projects, including open days for the public to explore the building and gifts for visiting companies at the Theatre.

I have also completed by own children's story based in Wallington Hall as part of my MA portfolio.

Newcastle Theatre Royal

I have created several versions of this illustration. This illustration has been used on greetings cards and invitations. Newcastle Theatre Royal has used this image as a gift for visiting theatre companies. The Pantomime version and the Christmas were commissioned later. Both can be seen in my Gallery.

Front of House Map

The interactive front of house map was my first project with Newcastle Theatre Royal. I was commissioned to create a map that the public could use for an egg hunt around the Theatre. The open day was accessible and encouraged everybody to come into the building and discover theatre. The brief emphasised accessibilty and diversity. I worked closely with them to come up with this colourful final design.

The Line Drawing is also used as a colour in activity sheet when the Theatre hosts accessible performances and children's shows.

Christmas Projects

After previously working with the theatre on the original illustration of the building, I was asked to create a winter version of the theatre, including the Christmas garland.

This illustration was used as a Christmas card for members and friends of the Theatre.

I was later asked to create a bespoke Pantomime version as a 20th anniversary of the pantomime. This was gifted to the company members and principle cast. This illustration includes a reference to all of the different pantomimes that have taken place at Newcastle Theatre Royal in the last 20 years.

Wallington Hall

I studied Illustration MA at the University of Sunderland. During this time, I created my first children's book based in Wallington. The story follows children living at Wallington Hall and their interactions with the estate's wildlife.

The story's theme was inspired by my love of walking in the countryside, particularly places like Wallington in Northumberland.

The illustrations from this picture book can be found in my Gallery.
